THE
SENATE
WHAT IS THE
SENATE?
The Senate is the
highest governing body in Porto Capital. It is made up of thirty
direct-elected representatives for five-year terms. It's sessions are
organised by the President. The Senate is in session on Tuesdays and
Thursdays, and also when an Emergency Session is called by the
President. The Senators have the task of deciding which items should be
voted upon and when. They may also decide which items should
or shouldn't be given time to be debated upon. The Senate may pass
legislation, which applies to the whole of the nation, as well as
appoint the Ministers. The Senate may overrule decisions made by
the President.
WHO ARE THE SENATORS?
There are thirty
Senators, ten from each of the three states: By the State of
Extremo: Cláudio Val Shez, Peter Daví Uoz, Juan da Oliveira
Costa, Luíz Cubija Netto, Júlio Vaz-Mendel, Guilherme Almeida
Cunha, Manuel Sena da Silva, Pollianna da Costa-Britto,
Patrícia Gide Paula and Marco Antônio de Sousa. By the
State of Guetaso: Renato Aguilar de Andrade, Maria Lopez da
Cunha, Juan Havelan Bandersar, Olivier Juan Shumbar, Tiago Ruiame
