WHO IS ON CHARGE
ON THE PORTOCAPITALIAN SPORTS?
The sports in our nation are responsability of the
Ministery of Education's Department of Sports. It represents Porto
Capital to most international sports comitees, such as the International
Golf Tour, International Tennis Bord and the International VexGames
Comitee.
VEXGAMES
Our presence in the
Vexgames is, to now, uncompetitive. Porto Capital has only participated
on the 302 Winter Games.
SOCCER
Soccer is the most
popular sport in Porto Capital. Although not yet a member of IVEFA, the
Department of Sports organized the National League 302, with sixteen
teams.

TENNIS
Currently, we
have seven players on the International Tennis Board: Alberto
Quelhas, Eduardo Silva, Aloísio de Oliveira, Wagner Camargo, Sasha
Batista, Maria Saltis and Carolina Saltadora.
GOLF
We
have four players on the International Golf Tour: Lance
Chriponsi, Ruy Huyfrino, Pedro Almeida and Xavier
Idiome.
OTHER
SPORTS
The Department of
Sports is considering the implementing of several other sports in Porto
Capital, such as football, cricket, baseball, rugby, ice hockey and
sailing. |
